Salmon oil
Rich in omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) and omega 6. This supplement supports overall health, promotes the natural immune system and supports joint function. Additionally, salmon oil has a beneficial effect on the heart, stimulates appetite and provides more energy.
Salmon Oil vs. Linseed Oil
Both salmon oil and flaxseed oil are rich in essential fatty acids. These are fatty acids that the body cannot produce on its own but are necessary for proper functioning. The main difference between salmon oil and flaxseed oil is the types of omega-3 fatty acids. Flaxseed oil is particularly rich in one type of omega-3 fatty acid (ALA), while salmon oil also contains EPA and DHA, in addition to ALA.
ALA is most commonly found in vegetable oils, while EPA and DHA are mostly found in animal oils. ALA fatty acids must first be converted to EPA and DHA by the body before they can be used. However, this process is quite inefficient, with conversion rates of only 5-10%. However, the omega-3 EPA and DHA from salmon oil can be directly used by the body, making the omega-3 from salmon oil much more efficient.
